In addition to the electric BMW eRR and learner-focused BMW G310R that we will see at the upcoming EICMA show, BMW Motorrad has confirmed that the highly rumored and expected BMW R nineT Scrambler will become an official model, debuting at the trade show in Milan, Italy.
“With the countless possibilities for individualisation offered by the BMW R nineT and the BMW R nineT Scrambler, we see tremendous potential in the US market, in particular,” said Peter Schwarzenbauer, Board Member of BMW Motorrad.
As the name suggests, the model will be based off the modular design for the BMW R nineT, utilizing the company’s innovative, but tragically named, modular design.
We expect the R nineT Scrambler to look a great deal like the BMW Concept Path 22 (shown above, and in the gallery below), which debut at the Wheels & Waves gathering this year.
However, we don’t expect too many technical changes from the current R nineT for the BMW R nineT Scrambler, with most of the work being aesthetic to appease the scrambling crowd.
This means a high-mount shotgun exhaust and knobby tires will compliment the air-cooled boxer twins engine and retro road bike design. Check back Tuesday next week, we will likely have photos of the BMW R nineT Scrambler for you then.
