It looks like some video of the new Africa Twin has leaked out of Honda HQ, showing the adventure-touring bike going through its paces.
From the few glimpses we see from the video, the Honda Africa Twin looks very similar to the True Adventure prototype that Honda unveiled at EICMA.
Designated as the Honda CRF1000L, the Africa Twin is shaping up to be a very interesting motorcycle from Big Red.
The 1,000cc parallel-twin engine is certainly nothing exciting, but Honda has mated it to an optional dual-clutch transmission, which might be a master-stroke from the Japanese company.
Drawing from the Africa Twin’s history in the Dakar Rally, the CRF1000L is being billed as a true off-roader, which is a breath of fresh air for a segment that continually pushes itself back onto the tarmac.
Pricing will be key, of course, but judging from the temperature of the motorcycling press, Honda already has a winner with the Africa Twin.
