BMW North America is recalling 2013-2015 BMW G650GS motorcycles, along with 2013-2014 BMW G650GS Sertão motorcycles because they might stall when the clutch lever is pulled in.
Since the engine stalling could increase the likelihood of a rider’s crash, BMW North America has filed this recall with the NHTSA. The recall affects a total of 1,060 units.
To remedy the issue, BMW will notify affected owners, and BMW dealers will install a revised version of the ECU software, free of charge.
The recall is expected to begin October 16, 2015. Concerned owners may contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417 or by email at CustomerRelations@bmwusa.com. As always, the NHTSA is also available at 1-888-327-4236 and safercar.gov.
