After seeing the gorgeous MV Agusta Brutale 1000 Serie Oro, we thought we were done with the Varesini brand, but MV Agusta continues to surprise us at EICMA, showing off a new concept model it calls the Superveloce 800.
Giving a glimpse of a model yet to come in the second-half of 2019, the MV Agusta Superveloce 800 takes the F3 800 supersport, and builds a truly unique motorcycle from it that pays homage to the Italian brand’s racing history.
MV Agusta starts the Superveloce 800 concept by taking an F3 800 chassis and engine, and then wraps it in a set of carbon fiber bodywork that takes its cues from the 1970s.
All the lighting is done via LEDs, with a large circular headlight at the front, which uses a yellow hue, and a smaller circular tail light in the rear cowling. There is a daylight running light built into the instrument cluster, as well.
Holding the tail section together is a new rear subframe, which allows the MV Agusta Superveloce 800 to be swapped from a mono-seat to a dual-seat. Our favorite piece though has to be the 3-1-3 exhaust, which has an assemetrical placement for the tips: two on the right side, and one on the left side of the motorcycle.
Owing to its roots, the riding position is the same as the MV Agusta F3 800, which means a very sporty crouch, though the footpegs are adjustable to preference.
The MV Agusta Superveloce 800 uses the Italian company’s new TFT dash, for a splash of modern, while the fuel tank cap is clearly a throwback to simpler times, with its leather strap that secures the fueling lid.
There are no power figures quoted by MV Agusta when it comes to the Superveloce 800, but the Italian brand does tip that a horsepower boost is coming, thanks to a remap of the three-cylinder engine. As such, we would expect close to 150hp from the MV Agusta Superveloce 800.
