Brap Talk Podcast #19 – Five

Episode 19 of the Brap Talk podcast is finally out for your two-wheeled audio pleasure, and apologies for its nearly three-week delay. One of the topics we cover, Carlin Dunne’s death at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, hit close to home for us.

Quite frankly, I think I put off editing this show for a while, so I wouldn’t have to deal with the personal emotions that arise when talking about his untimely departure from us.

On the show though, we talk a bit about the man we miss so dearly, and this year’s race as well. We also talk about the state of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, and what could be in store for its future. Of note, this show was recorded a few days after the race, and therefore before the news that motorcycles would not compete at the 2020 edition.

Other topics for the show include Shahin’s trip to the Touratech Rally in Washington, which includes a good discussion on how to get really for an ADV event. We also discuss some dual-sport tires, as well as a few bikes on the market in this space. If you like to get dirty, you will like our opening conversation.

The show finishes with some talk about electric motorcycles, as Jensen just attended the Harley-Davidson Livewire press launch, in our own Portland, Oregon. This bike is a huge deal for Harley-Davidson, as it is a big departure for the American brand.

The Livewire is also a noteworthy bike for the motorcycle industry, as it is the first full-size electric motorcycle from an established brand. As you would expect then, there is much to discuss on this topic.

There is plenty to discuss, and fun along the way, so we think you will enjoy this show. As always, you can find the latest episodes of the Brap Talk Podcast on iTunes, Google Play, SpotifySoundCloud, or via your RSS feed,
