Yamaha Ténéré 700 Rally Edition Model Announced in Europe

The Yamaha Ténéré 700 just debuted for the US market a matter of weeks ago, and already the Tuning Fork brand has a new edition of this middleweight ADV bike for our consumption.

The new model is called the Yamaha Ténéré 700 Rally Edition, and as the name implies, it is a more off-road ready variant of the Ténéré 700 motorcycle.

Before you get too bent out of shape about having to wait even longer for another Ténéré 700 model, the Rally Edition is mostly a parts bin bike, with Yamaha kitting a number of its aftermarket parts to the machine, along with a killer blue and yellow “speedblock” paint job.

As such, the Yamaha Ténéré 700 Rally Edition sees the inclusion of the following parts: skid plate (4mm thick aluminum) with toolbox mounting point, aluminum radiator protector, aluminum chain guard, rally seat, Akrapovic slip-on exhaust, LED signals, grip pads, and off-road handlebar grips.

Of course, the real draw is the special livery that comes with the Ténéré 700 Rally Edition. Fans of rally raid racing might recognize the paint, as it pays homage to the Yamaha race bikes ridden by JCO and Serge Bacou in the 1983 and 1984 editions of the Dakar rally.

Available July 2020, so far the Yamaha Ténéré 700 Rally Edition is only a European affair, with pricing in the UK set at £10,440 and pricing for mainland Europe going for €11,399.

These prices represent a £1,300 / €1,600 premium over the base model Ténéré 700, for those keen on the math.

As such, if the Yamaha Ténéré 700 Rally Edition ever did decide to come to the USA, we would expect the bike to be in the $11,500 range. What do you think? Should Yamaha Motor USA bring this bike over across the pond?
