Updates are coming to the popular Honda Grom mini-bike for the 2021 model year.
Honda Motor Europe is showing that the newly named “Honda MSX125 Grom” will get a power boost (now 9.6 hp), a fifth gear, and a modest restyling for next year.
Less obvious is that Honda has taken to heart the rabid modding scene that surrounds the Grom, and has thus responded by making the bodywork easier to remove on the pocket-sized ripper.
This should help tuners and hobbyists in their quest to make the ultimate Honda Grom street/race bike – and yes the Honda CBR300R motor is still a bolt-on swap.
Other features include an LCD dash and LED lights all around. 31mm upside down forks are also standard, along with 12″ wheels fore and aft. The seat height is an approachable 30 inches.
There is no word yet on pricing for the United States, but American Honda has confirmed that the updated Honda MSX125 Grom will come to our shores as a 2021 machine.
For fun trivia, Honda has sold over 750,000 Grom units worldwide. That’s a lot.
