We have a bit of a fun one today, as we are about to take the Honda Trail 125 for a spin around the roads and trails of Julian, California.
Like the original it mimics in design, the Honda Trail 125 has been based off the Honda Super Cub platform. This means a 125cc single-cylinder engine with a four-speed gearbox and an automatic clutch (technically, it’s two clutches, but we’ll get into that later.
A single-seater with a utility rack on the back, there is ABS on the front wheel only, and the styling is a direct interpretation from the Honda Trail 110, which was the first motorcycle Yours Truly ever swung a leg over and rode in anger, 20-something years ago.
We imagine that more than a few future riders could be starting their two-wheeled tenures on the Honda Trail 125, and the bike promises to be a good time on both city streets and modest off-road trails. At least, that’s what we hope to find out today.
Per our new review format, I will be giving you a live assessment of the Honda Trail 125 right here in this article (down in the comments section), and I will try to answer any questions you might have about this exciting motorcycle.
So, here is your chance to learn what it’s like to ride the Honda Trail 125, before even our own proper review is posted to A&R.
As always, if I don’t know an answer, I will try to get a response from the Honda personnel. So, pepper away.
