Aprilia’s 660 platform is making quite a splash, with the RS 660 dominating the MotoAmerica twins cup field, and the Tuono 660 offering an affordable, yet potent, offering for street riders.
Now, the next installment of the 660cc parallel-twin platform is ready for two-wheeled enthusiasts, as the Aprilia Tuareg 660 is set for its international unveiling (we’ll be riding the middleweight dual-sport in Italy in a week’s time).
With that debut imminent, details about the bike are coming in, most notably its price tag, which for the US market will be a cool $11,999 MSRP (add $600 if you want the Indaco Tagelmust color option).
That slots the 2022 Aprilia Tuareg 660 below the KTM 890 Adventure by $1,100, and above the Yamaha Ténéré 700 by $2,000, which is about where the Tuareg 660 sits on features against these two potent competitors.
Not quite as powerful as the KTM (80hp vs. 103hp), but certainly more feature-rich and ready-to-ride than the Yamaha, the Aprilia Tuareg 660 hopes to be the perfect blend of features and budget for true adventure riders.
That being said, the 449 lbs wet weight and fully adjustable suspension is surely going to impress off-roaders.
Similarly, the bevy of standard controls that Noale has included in its creation is certainly going to push the segment forward (traction control, ABS that can be disabled, 5″ TFT dash, cruise control, etc), and appeal to riders who are looking for something with more meat on the bones feature-wise.
With bikes showing up in dealerships in February 2022, Aprilia is set to start pre-booking orders on November 10th, which is right around when our review of the 2022 Aprilia Tuareg 660 hits the pages of A&R.
