Posting its seventh consecutive quarter of sales growth, Ducati North America has started 2012 on the right foot, posting a 10.2% sales increase in its first quarter over last year’s figures. Seeing growth in all three of its national markets (Canada, Mexico, & USA), Ducati North America managed to buck the trend all through the recent recession, and now with the economy heating up again, the Italian brand continues to see strong sales growth. Ducati’s apparel and accessories sales were also up in Q1, posting a 98% increase over last year’s figures.

“It’s exciting to report this level of sustained retail sales growth, continuing the momentum of our record year in 2011,” said Cristiano Silei, Chief Executive Officer of Ducati North America. ”We expect this growth to gain even more strength throughout the year, thanks to the imminent introduction of new products across several of Ducati’s motorcycle categories.”

Looking down the line, Ducati North America sees strong growth in its future as well. With the 2012 Ducati Streetfighter 848 hitting dealerships last week, and with the Ducati 1199 Panigale already selling out its first production orders to dealers, Ducati should see its eighth consecutive positive quarter in Q2 2012. Ducati also has the Diavel Cromo coming out in early May, which should help bolster sales of the already popular Ducati Diavel.

“We are enthusiastic that 2012 has begun with growth across all categories,” said Dominique Cheraki, General Manager of Ducati North America. “However, Ducati and our dealers will not rest on this success. Our commitment is to fuel Ducati’s growth in North America with continuous introduction of new, significant products to market, and by improving consumer’s accessibility to our brand with further expansion and investment in our dealer network.”
