Known better for its fine exhausts, Akrapovi? is starting to get into the habit of making some intriguing concept motorcycles as well.
So far the Slovenian brand has kept these bikes to a cruiser theme, perhaps to amplify the company’s message to the Bar & Shield realm that other options exist outside of their Screamin’ Eagle©®™ Patriot-Freedom exhaust cannons that are so ubiquitous in that segment.
In contrast to the current trend, Akrapovi?’s designs have been sleek, and this weeks’ latest, the Akrapovi? Full Moon concept continues that ideal.
Debuting at the Bad Salzuflen Custombike Show in Germany, the Full Moon was built by Akrapovi?, again with assistance by Slovenia’s Dreamachine Motorcycles, which had worked on the Akrapovi? Morsus back in 2011 as well.
That would explain the common theme of disc wheels, smooth flowing lines, and an exposed S&S knucklehead v-twin engine (1,524cc). Most noticeable though is the carbon fiber front wheel, which is a massive 30 inches in diameter, and is the inspiration for the name, as it looks like a full moon next to the motorcycle.
The appealing monocoque chassis hides two Akrapovi? exhausts in its teardrop rear-end, which makes for an impressive and futuristic impression.
Steering is “fully automated” according to Akrapovi?, which we take to mean is done via electronics, rather than manual linkages. Thus, minimal cabling can be seen on the front end, helping retain the Full Moon’s lines.
Thanks to a hyrdaulic lowering system in the suspension, there is no need for a kickstand, as the Full Moon merely sits on the ground, once it’s gotten to where it’s going.
