Marc Marquez was the first to try the asymmetric front tire being provided by Bridgestone for the first time this year and was happy with how it felt.
Andrea Dovizioso finished today down in 10th place.
Jorge Lorenzo found some improvements in the electronic setup of his Yamaha M1, between FP1 and FP2, which helped move him to within 0.263 seconds of Marc Marquez.
Hiroshi Aoyama is filing in for the injured Karel Abraham this weekend, and he will not be popular with the team after crashing in FP2.
