We had a bit of a technical snafu on this week’s Paddock Pass Podcast episode, so to keep with our weekly schedule of shows, we are releasing to you this special Patreon show that we recorded two months ago with Jonathan Rea, right after he won the WorldSBK title for the sixth time in a row.

The show sees Steve English sitting down the champion, and while they talk about the season, they also explore topics into other areas, like Rea’s opportunities to race in the MotoGP paddock.

The Yamaha FJR1300 is the latest subject to a NHTSA recall, as the the sport-tourer’s second gear can crack and break under high-speed loads.

Yamaha FJR1300 owners are advised not to operate their motorcycle until the repairs for this recall have been performed.

The recall affects 2,285 units – FJR1300 bikes produced between December 9, 2015 and February 2, 2020.

With the departure of Scott Wine from the powersports industry, the question coming into 2021 was who was going to lead Polaris Industries going forward.

We still don’t have a definitive answer on that, but we do know who will be leading the company’s house of brands as it looks for a permanent solution, as Michael Speetzen has been named the interim CEO for Polaris.

Today marks Stage 2 of the 2021 Dakar Rally, which means that the field is starting to separate a bit through the timed special stages. The day was a fruitful expedition for the Honda boys, with Joan Barreda leading the pack, with Ricky Brabec in close pursuit.

That’s good news for HRC, as the Japanese brand hopes to defend its historic #1 plate from last year, which Brabec won by upsetting KTM’s 18-year winning streak at the iconic rally-raid.

Helping Brabec & Co. challenge for victory is the 2021 Honda CRF450 Rally – an off-road racing platform that has evolved over multiple years of development into a proper dirt bike weapon.

When it comes to motorcycle brands that are based in the Lombardy region of Italy, the thought of MV Agusta immediately comes to mind.

However, an even smaller boutique marque exists in this beautiful region of the boot-shaped country: Magni Motorcycles.

The name Magni should be a familiar one with students of the industry, as the company’s namesake, Arturo Magni, is one of Italy’s more important figures in the motorcycle industry.

And this, the Magni Italia 01/01, is an homage to Arturo’s legacy.

Every New Year, the Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II releases a list of names that have the honor of receiving a British Order of Chivalry distinction.

The list comprises the names of citizens who have contributed something meaningful to the Commonwealth, ranging from politicians to sport heroes.

This New Year, the list included a familiar name to motorcycle enthusiasts, as John McGuinness has received a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, abbreviated MBE.

Episode 48 of the Brap Talk motorcycle podcast is back with another weekly episode, for your two-wheeled listening pleasure.

Our final installment for 2020, this episode sees us talking about the how the new Shoei RF-1400 is on the open road, as well as the debut of the Ohvale GP-2.

From there, we take a look at some of the biggest stories from the year, and discuss what to expect in 20201.

Episode 179 of the Paddock Pass Podcast is out, and this one is our final show of 2020. Naturally, we have something special for you, as we take a look at Joan Mir’s season.

On the mics, we have Neil Morrison, Steve English, and our newest member to the show, Adam Wheeler (from the magazine On-Track Off-Road).

Joining the trio is MotoGP World Champion Joan Mir, along with his manager Paco Sanchez. This is definitely a show you want to give a listen.

When it comes to race-ready minimotos, the name Ohvale is all you need to know. The Italian brand has stormed onto the scene, and quickly found traction with youth riders and old pros alike.

It is easy to see why, as the platform offers top-shelf kit in a space that has been mostly about heavily modified Honda Grom street bikes and cheap dirt bike conversions.

If you were serious about developing your road racing skills on a go-kart track, then the Ohvale GP-0 190 was the beast for you.

It is no secret that motorcycle racers at the top of the sport use flat track as a way to hone their skills during the season. The practice dates all the way back to Kenny Roberts Sr., and has stayed in the grand prix paddock ever since.

Like all great champions though, Valentino Rossi has taken things to the next level, building his own private flat track course near his home in Tavullia, Italy.
