Looks like our tip about Suzuki is coming to fruition sooner than we expected (although, we’re still holding our breath on the GSX1000R part of that tip). Suzuki has launched a new European Bandit at the Bol D’or 24 hour endurance race, in Magny-Cours, France, and it looks like they have given the Bandit a bit of a make-over. Pictures and more after the jump.
With a sportier look, the Bandit looks ready to take on the FZ1, Z1000, and other naked bikes of the world (like the CB1000R in Europe). Changes seem to be skin-deep though, with the same chassis and motor residing underneath the new drapery.
Suzuki has dropped the half-fairing that can currently be seen on the American Bandit 1250S, and replaced it with a truly naked look: totally exposed engine, and solitary headlight with a de minimis speedometer. The motor has been blacked-out more, creating a more sinister look, which goes along with current design trends. Like here in the States, buyers will be able to choose between a base model, and ABS equipped edition.
So far, Suzuki has only announced the re-designed Bandit for the European market, but have craftily been quiet about their “touring” line for 2010 here in the US. As always, time will tell.
