For the last year, Moto Guzzi has been trickling out its newest ADV machine. As such, we have had a long time to get the know the Moto Guzzi V85 TT, without actually knowing the machine at all.
Released as a concept at last year’s EICMA show, the V85 became production-ready at this year’s INTERMOT show, but even at that time, Moto Guzzi was mum on details. That all changes today though, as we finally have some tech specs on the 2019 Moto Guzzi V85 TT, and we like what we hear.
At the heart of the machine is a 850cc longitudinal v-twin engine, which will produce 80hp and 59 lbs•ft (80 Nm) of torque. The middleweight adventure-tourer will tip the scales at 458 lbs dry, obviously without its 5.5 gallons of fuel onboard.
This isn’t featherweight status, but it’s not the overweight doom and gloom that many expected from Moto Guzzi. Said to be priced aggressively, the Moto Guzzi V85 TT could be a surprise entry for the 2019 model year.
The bike is not without refinement either, with a large TFT dash, LED lights, cornering ABS, traction control, and a ride-by-wire throttle with three riding modes (Road, Rain, and Off-Road).
The fully adjustable suspension has 6.7″ of travel, with 41mm forks up front. Fuel range is said to be roughly 250 miles.
With its unique styling, the Moto Guzzi V85 TT certainly stands out in the adventure-touring category, but we think with these tech specs, the Italian machine might be taken more seriously – especially by riders that are looking for an ADV bike that has a little bit more character and retro flare.
