The Kawasaki Versys 650 was tipped for a revision in the 2022 model year, and Team Green has confirmed those suspicions today at EICMA.
Kawasaki says that it hasn’t changed the essence of what makes the Versys such a popular bike, as such the engine and chassis remain the same from their previous iteration.
This means the same 649cc parallel-twin engine, 17″ wheels, and long-travel suspension format for 2022, with the addition of new bodywork and accessories.
Color-coded matching panniers are available from Kawasaki, along with a large top case.
The upper cowl has been changed (to match the Versys 1000), and the windscreen has a four-way adjustable height. Lighting is all LED, and the traction control comes with two selectable modes.
Other electronics come in the form of a 4.3″ TFT dash with Bluetooth connectivity to your smartphone. There is also an optional USB outlet.
The fuel tank has a spacious 5.5 gallon tank (21 liters), which should get your more than down the road on commutes or cross-highway trips.
Pricing in the USA for the 2022 Kawasaki Versys 650 starts at $8,899 MSRP, with the “LT” trim with bags costing $9,999 MSRP.
