Supermotos have a special place in our Asphalt & Rubber loving hearts, so we celebrate every new model release we can, and today sees us looking at the 2023 Husqvarna FS 450 – the pointy end of production supermotos.
The Swedish brand claims that the 2023 is “all new” for the coming model year, though a careful look at the previous year’s machine shows that things are a close evolution of before.
That being said, the 2023 Husqvarna FS 450 does feature a new hydro-formed frame, as well as a new 450cc single-cylinder engine, and promises to be a class-leader on performance.
Not all brawn, there is some beauty as well, as Husqvarna has also designed new bodywork for the FS 450, making it easier to spot on the race track from its progenitors (note the cover over the rear shock reservoir now, and pointier tail section).
Diving into the technical package, as before, the 2023 Husqvarna FS 450 comes equipped with WP suspension, with WP XACT 48mm forks with AER technology, along with a WP XACT rear shock that has tool-less adjustments.
The braking is done by Brembo (with a single disc at the front), with tubeless wheels from Alpina (16.5″ on the front), and a slipper clutch from Suter.
An up-shift only quickshifter is also part of the package straight from the factory, as are launch control and traction control switches.
Available only for track use, the 2023 Husqvarna FS 450 continues a strong tradition of race-ready machines for supermoto enthusiasts. If you have the means, we highly recommend picking one up. They’re so choice.
If you need more convincing though, there are over 120 hi-res photos of the 2023 Husqvarna FS 450 in the gallery below.
