The guys and gals over at Autoblog never cease to disappoint when it comes to finding some of the most outrageous automotive concoctions on the internet, and today is no exception.
Someone had the audacity/genius, to completely rip out the guts of a 2008 Toyota Prius, and stuff in a Harley Davidson motor from 1986.
While some will be cringing in terror and anger after seeing the Captain Planet mobile so horribly butchered, remember that the “Toyohog”, as the team calls it, was built to compete in the 24 Hours of LeMons, and maybe win the “Albert Gore Jr. Carbon Neutral Cup”, one of the many LeMons season prizes.
The brainchild of a LeMons team called Hell’s Treehuggers, the dated v-twin only produces 46hp in stock trim, but this once 883cc engine has been bored out to 1,100cc, to help push all that glass around the track.
The 24 Hours of LeMons is a series of endurance races held at tracks across the country for budget beater cars that are more often than not home-brew race cars.
The challenge is, your budget for purchase of the car and race prep, minus safety equipment and wheels/tires, must remain under $500.
Although the car has been competing in the 24 Hours of LeMons for several years, the car is now up for sale on eBay, with a current bid of $1,275.
