To call the Husqvarna Norden 901 one of the most anticipated motorcycles for the 2022 model year might not be an understatement, though you might not be using that phrase for the right reasons.
We have been waiting for the Norden 901 to debut for over two years now, ever since Husqvarna unveiled the machine at the 2019 EICMA show in Milan.
Based off the KTM 890 Adventure platform, one would think getting the Norden 901 out the door would be an easy affair for the Austrian brand, but yet here we are.
Debuting as more of an explorer’s bike, the Norden 901 slots between the base model KTM 890 Adventure and KTM 890 Adventure R (though it leans closer to the base model’s spec sheet).
With more fairing, and a unique look, Husqvarna is offering something different from the usual pointy orange things, though one can have reasonable debates if that “different” is different enough.
Priced at $14,000 for the US market, the Husqvarna Norden 901 is designed for more riding in the saddle than on the footpegs, without compromising the bike’s ability to get into the gnarly stuff. The Norden is designed is putting the tourer in adventure-touring.
Will that formula be a winner for the history Swedish brand? That remains to be seen. The Austrians have done well with the KTM 890 Adventure lineup, but successes with orange bikes hasn’t always translated into success with the blue and white ones.
If you are itching to ride one, we will help salve that itch with the 87 high-resolution photos below, as we do.
