It appears that the rumors are true, and that Kawasaki is set to debut another supercharged motorcycle at the upcoming EICMA show.
We have reported already that Kawasaki is rumored to have a sport-touring model of the supercharged Ninja H2, and it seems that rumor is close to the mark.
Releasing a teaser video today, the new Kawasaki model appears to be less about outright performance, and more about enhancing the journey. In short, it sounds a lot like a sport-touring model is nigh.
Whether or not this new supercharged model, the third in Kawasaki’s lineup, is based off the H2 platform remains to be seen, however.
Kawasaki’s own words seem to confirm all this, with the text accompanying to the video stating the following:

Until now the Kawasaki supercharged story has been almost entirely performance focused. For 2018 Kawasaki will unveil a brand new machine at the EICMA show on 7 November utilising balanced supercharger technology to create even greater low to mid-range pulling power.
While none of the exhilarating forced induction performance feeling is missing, this unique power feeling is now joined by superior fuel economy and an overall riding feeling directed towards the sport touring market.

Kawasaki’s statement seems to confirm what we expected from forced-induction machines all along, namely lighter and smaller displacement motorcycles that use superchargers and turbochargers to enhance their performance – meaning 1,000cc power from 500cc engines, etc.
A small but peppy sport-tourer from Kawasaki could be incredibly intriguing, and we can’t wait to see what they debut in Italy, in about a month’s time. Stay tuned!
