In the ongoing debate about who is the greatest motorcycle racer of all time, the short-list of names always includes Giacomo Agostini – the the winningest grand prix racer of all-time.
And to earn that reputation, Agostini relied on the MV Agusta, the marque that was almost exclusively responsible for hurling the Italian to 15 world championships and 10 Isle of Man TT wins.
This makes the names Giacomo Agostini and MV Agusta almost inseparable from each other, and today’s news furthers that bond as the MV Agusta Superveloce Ago is a limited edition homage to that legacy.
Only 311 examples of the machine will be made, to commemorate the same number of grand prix victories that Giacomo Agostini had to his name. Of note, the first 15 units will be dedicated to Agostini’s world titles, and have unique placards on their fuel tank.
Go fast parts include 43mm NIX front forks from Öhlins, with a matching TTX36 rear shock and steering damper from the Swedish brand.
The bodywork is done completely in carbon fiber, with a taller windscreen and a livery that gives a nod to the winning colors of Ago’s MV Agusta racing machines.
The beautiful tubeless spoked wheels are 3.5” in the front and 5.5” in the rear, mounted with Pirelli rubber in 120/70 ZR17 and 180/55 ZR17 tire sizes.
Of course, it wouldn’t be an MV Agusta limited edition without a racing kit (which boosts power to 151hp), and this one adds the stunning Arrow exhaust (including race ECU), with its asymmetrical 2-1 pipe routing on each side of the bike and an “Ago” rock screen at the tip.
A regular Superveloce always stuns, but the MV Agusta Superveloce Ago is something else. If you want one in your garage, you better hurry…and find €32,100 in your wallet.
