Reports from Indonesia continue to tease the upcoming launch of the Yamaha MT-25, the fairingless version of the Yamaha YZF-R25 sport bike.
Judging from the other MT models and the spy photos that have come out, the MT-25 is expected to look like the rendering above.
It’ll like feature the same 249cc parallel-twin engine found on the R25, which means it should produce around 35hp and 16 lbs•ft of peak torque.
With a little less hardware, the MT-25 is expected to be a tad lighter than the R25, with 160kg (352 lbs) being floated around as the alleged curb weight.
Expected to be built in Indonesia, the MT-25 is another Yamaha model built specifically for the ASEAN market.
Though it is expected to be a world model, it will be interesting to see if Yamaha bring the quarter-liter MT to the US market, with an FZ designation.
If Yamaha USA does bring the new MT, will it be a 321cc model, like the YZF-R3 sport bike, and thus be named the FZ-03? Time will tell.
