Dani Pedrosa claimed pole position for tomorrow’s Malaysian Grand Prix.
Marc Marquez returns to his pit box during during Q2. He will start from 2nd place for tomorrow’s race.
Valentino Rossi completes the front row. Much to the delight of the members of the Valentino Rossi fan club in the main grandstand.
Jorge Lorenzo will start from 4th place. He appeared to think he had qualified on the front row as he headed towards Parc Fermé. Realizing he hadn’t, he had to free wheel down to his pit box, to jeers from the Valentino Rossi fan club.
Andrea Iannone during FP3. He will start from the outside of the second row in 6th place.
Cal Crutchlow came in to swap bikes during qualifying. He will start the race from 5th place on the grid.
Bradley Smith rounds the final turn ahead of Danilo Petrucci during FP4. They will start from 9th and 13th respectively.
Andrea Dovizioso during FP3. He qualified one place behind his team mate in 7th.
Eugene Laverty had a difficult qualifying session. The team had problems starting the bike at the beginning of Q1. That cost him a couple of minutes and he went on to qualify in 22nd place.
Malaysia has been under a chocking haze for several months due to forest fires in Indonesia. This picture of Aleix Espargaro during FP3 gives some idea of the poor visibility in Sepang.
