Episode 140 of the Paddock Pass Podcast is out, and this one takes us back in time, to one of the best MotoGP seasons we have ever had. We are talking about the 2006 MotoGP Championship.

For this stroll down memory lane, this show sees David Emmett, Steve English and, Neil Morrison on the microphones talking about this epic season, and there is a lot to get excited about when talking about the 2006 season.

There was Valentino Rossi’s surprise fall from utter domination; five different manufacturers getting on the podium; and some of the closest racing we have ever seen in the series, which of course culminated with Nicky Hayden becoming a Grand Prix World Champion.

The show sees the guys talking through the lead up to the 2006 season, preseason testing, whether Valentino Rossi lost focus with thoughts of a move to F1.

Then we go through the highlights of the season: Ducati’s rise, Hayden’s consistency, the arrival of Dani Pedrosa, the bar-banging races at Mugello, Sachsenring, Estoril, and the multifaceted drama of the Portugese Grand Prix.

It’s a fun recap of MotoGP history, and we hope to do some more shows like this while we wait for racing to resume from the coronavirus shutdown. Have a favorite season from MotoGP or WorldSBK that you want to see discussed? Let us know!
