Episode 146 of the Paddock Pass Podcast is out, and this one was recorded right after the news that Jack Miller would be making the jump up to the factory Ducati Corse MotoGP team.
As such, this show sees David Emmett, Steve English, and Neil Morrison on the microphones talking about the current state of the rider markets in the MotoGP and WorldSBK Championships, in this time of COVID-19.
The show starts off with a look at the background to Miller’s signing, and how it has been on the cards for some time.
From there, it takes a look at what this means for Danilo Petrucci, and how it affects Ducati. Should Petrucci stay in MotoGP, perhaps with Aprilia, or should he head to WorldSBK? Naturally, this leads on to a discussion of what happens to Andrea Dovizioso.
The show goes through the other factories, looking at their options, and ask who stays, and where the teams will look for talent. The guys talk about the difficulties facing team managers when gambling on untested riders in Moto2, and who might get the call.
The episode finishes off with a discussion of the situation in WorldSBK, discuss whether Scott Redding stays in WorldSBK or moves back to MotoGP, what happens to Chaz Davies, and who might make the jump from WorldSBK to MotoGP.
