Episode 229 of the Paddock Pass Podcast is out, and this show covers the MotoGP action from the Austria GP at the Red Bull Ring.
On the mics, we have Steve English, David Emmett, Neil Morrison, and Adam Wheeler, as they cover what turned out to be another eventful weekend in Austria.
We start off with our moments of the weekend, before getting into Brad Binder’s remarkable victory, riding slicks on a soaking track. Neil Morrison also talks all things KTM, and his visit to the factory, and what impressed him most.
We then discuss the race at the Red Bull Ring, how we finally had a race without any red flags, though with plenty of drama.
The show also covers the return of Marc Marquez, and what that means going forward. How impressive he was in the dry, and how unusual that he was the first into the pits when it started to rain.
We look at how Fabio Quartararo has once again managed to come out of a MotoGP race having extended his lead in the championship, and how Joan Mir is trying to start the mind games as the title draws closer.
Naturally, we discuss Maverick Viñales – a subject we dive into in much greater depth in the Paddock Pass Extra episode for Patreon supporters – and what happens next. And finally, we give our winners and losers for the weekend.
As always, the conversation is insightful and lively, and adds another dimension to what goes on in the MotoGP Championship paddock.
