Late in 2008 Antonio Banderas bought the 125cc/250cc GP teams of Motomondiale to the tune of €6 million. With Moto2 starting for the first time in history this week, Banderas has unveiled his new team: Jack & Jones by Antonio Banderas. At a press launch Monday, Banderas personally unveiled the Moto2 race bikes the team will be using. Unfortunately, he left his mask, cape, and sword at home.
Jack & Jones will see Kenny Noyes and Joan Olivé take to the team’s Promoharris 600cc prototype race bikes this year. Banderas for his part hopes to be an active member of team, and plans to attend as many races as possible. “I want to be involved with the team where the riders, both Joan and Kenny, have everything they need to compete at the highest level,” explained the Spanish actor. Banderas is reportedly committed to attending the Indianapolis and Silverstone GP stops, with the rest of the GP events subject to his acting schedule.
The Masked Avenger himself is an avid motorcycle fan, owning 5 motorcycles. “I am a motorcycle lover, and I’ve been a big fan in recent years. This gave me the opportunity to compete on the inside and I didn’t have to think about it!” Jack & Jones by Antonio Banderas takes to the track this weekend at Losail, where will see if all those Hollywood dollars can lead to a step on the podium. Thanks for the tip Trevor!
