With this being MotoGP’s last stop at Donington for the foreseeable future, the British venue seems to be putting its best foot forward. Agreeable weather, rabid fans, and close qualifying makes Sunday’s race and send off that much more enjoyable. It won’t be all clear skies though, Sunday’s weather forecast is showing some rain, and undoubtedly riders are practicing their bike swapping out in their minds.
Fiat-Yamaha continues to be the standard in the paddock, with Rossi grabbing another pole position, and Lorenzo just barely losing his second place start to Dani Pedrosa in the closing minutes of the qualifying session. The Ducati’s showed a particular disagreement with the course, struggling to find a proper setup. While Casey Stoner managed a 4th place spot on the grid, the rest of the Ducatisi are 4th row and back.
