Stoner's Mechanics Given Notice

GPweek.com is reporting that Casey Stoner’s mechanics in the Marlboro Ducati garage have been warned “that they may have to seek new employment for next season.” If true, this is a strong indication that Ducati does not expect the Australian GP Champion to return to the Italian team for the 2011 season. While many sources are quick to make the link that this means Rossi is inbound to the Ducati team, we’re still hesitant to subscribe to that faulty logic.

Should Stoner move to Repsol Honda (for €5 million reportedly), there certainly is a possibility of seeing Rossi move into the empty seat on the Ducati team, but at this point in time the idea of Pedrosa moving instead out of HRC and into Ducati seems just as real of a possibility. One thing is for certain, the rumor mill of Casey Stoner moving into HRC is red hot right now, which tends to mean there’s more truth to these rumors than meets the eye.
