Confirming our earlier report, KTM North America has issued a recall of the KTM 1290 Super Duke GT street bike, a recall that affects 487 units which were sold for the 2016 and 2017 model years.
As we reported earlier, the recall centers around a pre-formed fuel hose that can develop small holes or cracks, which could potentially lead to a fuel leak.
The defect comes from a variation in the production process by the fuel hose supplier, ContiTech, and can be remedied by replacing the hose with a new one.
As such, KTM will notify affected owners, and KTM dealers will replace the defective fuel hose, free of charge.
KTM North America has not provided a date yet for when this recall will begin, though concerned KTM 1290 Super Duke GT customers may contact KTM customer service at 1-888-985-6090.
