Last year, Moto Guzzi intrigued us with its V85 Enduro concept. The bike was based around a new 850cc, 80hp, longitudinal v-twin platform, and promised to be the basis for several new models for the Italian brand – the first of which would be an adventure-touring model.
Now, that wait is over, and we get our first glimpse of the 2019 Moto Guzzi V85 Tutto Terreno a few hours earlier than expected. True to expectations, the Moto Guzzi V85 TT is a middleweight ADV machine that promises some solid adventuring capabilities in a retro-styled package.
We first spotted this leaked photo on the UK’s Visordown site, and it seems to show the Moto Guzzi V85 TT with some parts from the Moto Guzzi catalog – namely panniers, crash bars, and a skid plate.
There is still no word on specs and pricing, which will dictate a lot, but for those who are looking for something a little different in their adventure-touring selection, or miss the Moto Guzzi Stelvio, the V85 TT looks like a good option.
Hopefully the Italians have been able to keep the weight down on the V85 engine, as those longitudinal v-twins, with their shaft drives, are not known for being light. If it comes in at sub-500 lbs, Moto Guzzi could have a real winner on its hands.
We will know more tomorrow at the INTERMOT show in Cologne, Germany. So, stay tuned to Asphalt & Rubber for additional info and other new bike releases.
