The last in Moto Guzzi’s trio of Mandello based concepts is the Moto Guzzi V12 Strada (also read about the Moto Guzzi V12 LM & Moto Guzzi V12 X). While the LM separates itself from the group with its design, the V12 X shares very similar cues with the V12 Strada. Whereas we thought the Strada was more minimalist, the X seems to have more meat on its bones.
Moto Guzzi has made three concepts for this year’s EICMA show, all based around the Mandello 1,200cc v-twin motor. Unveiled en masse, the Moto Guzzi V12 Le Mans (LM), Moto Guzzi V2 X, and Moto Guzzi V12 Strada are all striking concepts, but the V12 LM was the star of Moto Guzzi’s unveiling, and shows the brand’s aggressive designs and focus for the future. After debuting the 2010 BMW R1200RT and 2010 BMW R1200GS ahead of EICMA, BMW left some of for today at EICMA. Called Concept 6 (6-Pack internally), BMW released a concept bike that features an in-line six-cylinder motor, and takes its design cues from a futuristic cafe racer ethos.
That’s exactly what bsdesigns thought when they inked this concept sketch of a VFR’d Fireblade, and it looks exactly like this (scroll up). The Honda VFR 1200 Fireblade, as they call it, features the same CBR exhaust can, but retains the new VFR’s dimensions.
What you see above is the work of one Ian McElroy. It’s a render, done in SolidWorks, of a concept motorcycle that has a Subaru WRX motor at its core. With twin-intercoolers, underseat turbocharger, and a hub-steering chassis, the KickBoxer, as McElroy calls it, is an impressive looking machine, but what’s most impressive is that Ian didn’t know a lick of SolidWorks before he set out to make this design. Photos and spec’s after the jump.
An icon of motorcycling, the Honda Super Cub changed the perception of motorcycles in American culture by creating a bike that normal everyday people could use for basic transportation needs.
As times have changed, and a new-found desire for a cheap, efficient, people-pusher has emerged in the motorcycle industry, and Honda seems uncomfortable letting companies like Brammo tread on its domain.
Accordingly at the Tokyo Motor Show this week, Honda released an all new electric scooter design that plays heavily off its Super Cub predecessor. More info after the jump.
Taking cues from the Ducati Monster, Olivier Henrichot has put his photoshop skills towards creating a Ducati & Fila branded athletic shoe that takes the Monster’s frame and fuel tank visuals, and incorporated them into the shoe’s design elements.
While the internet as a whole was resistant to the idea of an Italian bred street chopper, Italian firm Cafe Racers & Superbikes has picked up where Ducati may have left off.
After spending the last two years sprinkling Italian styling in the cruiser segment, the CR&S DUU (we think the name needs some work still) is finally taking a more clear shape, and will use a traditional chopper-esque American born 2.0L v-twin motor, surrounded by modern styling that takes its inspiration from the sportbike scense.
For many, this will come with a sigh of relief. Ducati VP of Marketing, Diego Sgorbati, has confirmed that Ducati has no intentions of making a cruiser motorcycle…for the time being. Long rumored to appear at the upcoming EICMA expo, the Ducati Vyper concept has stirred a few imaginations, as well as a few stomachs. Reported in various forms, we still like to visualize it with the renders that Luca from Bar-Design provided us with last year.
The folks at MCN have either been playing with Play-doh again, or have managed to sneak a camera into Ducati HQ. Irregardless, the result is this image of what can only be the rumored Ducati Vyper cruiser.
According to the Spanish news site Solomoto, Honda is about to launch a bike based off their EVO 6 concept. The EVO 6 debuted at the Tokyo Motor Show in 2007 as Hondas stab at making a hypermotard built off the Goldwing 1800cc motor.
